Julia Dattolo, President and CEO of CareerSource Palm Beach County began her distinguished career in the US Navy as a Direct Commission Officer in 1984, following her graduation from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her first assignment was at Bethesda Naval Hospital, after which she pursued a Master’s degree in Cardiopulmonary Critical Care at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in 1991.

 

Julia dedicated 22 years of service as a Nurse Corps Officer, concluding her Naval career in 2006 as the Reserve Commanding Officer of the Naval Hospital Jacksonville Detachment Unit at the Naval Operational Support Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Throughout her military career, she excelled as a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, concurrently working in hospitals at her various duty stations.

After retiring from the Navy, Julia shifted her focus to her family before re-entering the workforce. She began a new career at CareerSource Palm Beach County, where she helped disabled veterans find employment, education, and training. Over the years, she advanced within the organization, becoming the Director of Business Services. In this role, she managed recruiting services and led teams supporting returning citizens and individuals with disabilities.

 

As Vice President of Business Services, Julia expanded CareerSource’s community presence. Today, she serves as the President and CEO of CareerSource Palm Beach County. Her leadership extends to serving on several boards, including the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, the Business Development Board, the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County, and the Palm Beach County Veterans Advisory Board.

 

Her work and dedication to Palm Beach County’s workforce earned her the 2024 Toni Jennings Florida Workforce Professional of the Year, 2022 Palm Beach Nonprofit Executive of the Year, and Palm Beach North 2023 Woman of the Year.

 

Julia and her husband, Dr. Robert Dattolo, a former Commander and Naval flight surgeon, have been married for 33 years and have two children. They reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
